Description: The goal of this project is to design and implement a lightweight STAC-based catalog for internal geospatial datasets stored in the company infrastructure. The student will analyze a subset of available raster and vector products, define a consistent metadata schema compliant with the STAC standard, and develop a simple ingestion workflow to add new entries with minimal manual effort. The final output will include a working prototype, example catalog entries, and a small utility (web based or Python script) to register new datasets into the catalog.
Difficult level: Medium
Requirements: Basic knowledge of Python, JSON, web development and geospatial data formats (GeoTIFF, GeoJSON, Parquet). Familiarity with metadata concepts, Git, and REST APIs is a plus.
