We want to create a smart home prototype at NESLab that we can use as a demonstrator and as a testbed to experiment with new ideas. The goal of the project is to create a first smart home prototype in the lab, based on the Homeassistant platform. We will make available a range of possible sensors, including smart bulbs, smart switches, smart plugs, power meters, smart speakers, cameras, temperature and humidity sensors, … plus whatever comes to mind that is potentially interesting to mimic a smart home setup. The project is about combining these many smart gadgets in interesting ways and develop a dashboard to enable user interactions. There will be plenty of room for being creative! The project is part of the research activities of NESLab.
