Description: This project focuses on the development of automated workflows for the pre-processing of Planet satellite imagery and the extraction of relevant features for fuel type classification.
The pre-processing chain includes:
- Catalogue construction and data organization
- Image mosaicking and temporal compositing
- Radiometric correction
- Topographic correction
The processed imagery and derived features are used to build a consistent input dataset for fuel category mapping over Sardinia.
The final objective is to support spatially explicit characterization of vegetation fuel types, contributing to wildfire risk assessment and management.
