The goal of this project is to upgrade the QGIS HotSpotAnalysis plugin (https://github.com/danioxoli/HotSpotAnalysis_Plugin). The code will be updated to match changes in the PySAL library, and support for GeoPackage and GeoJSON will be added alongside the current Shapefile format. The plugin interface will be reviewed and adapted to Qt6 where possible. Other improvements include code cleanup, better handling of large datasets, and optional user feedback during processing. New test data in updated formats will also be prepared, and compatibility across Windows, Ubuntu, and macOS will be verified.
