Description: The goal of this project is to develop a simple visualization tool for internal raster datasets stored in a MinIO object storage. The student will design and implement a prototype web application or service capable of loading selected raster layers, exposing them through a lightweight backend, and displaying them on an interactive map. The project may include basic functionalities such as layer selection, metadata display, visualization presets, and support for Cloud Optimized GeoTIFFs or tile-based rendering. The final result should be a reproducible prototype that can be integrated into the company’s internal data workflows.
Difficult level: Medium
Requirements: Basic knowledge of Python and web development. Familiarity with geospatial raster data, object storage concepts, and mapping libraries is useful. Experience with FastAPI, Leaflet, MapLibre, or TiTiler is a plus.
