Project description: This project focuses on the implementation of a supervised Machine Learning algorithm for mapping snow cover from Sentinel-2 and Sentinel-3 data with a weekly time step. The implementation should be based on: sampling training data by photo interpretation of RGB composites (weekly) and training location selected by stratified random sampling, accessing S2- and S-3 images and masking, generation of weekly S2- and S-3 indices, calibration of a mapping algorithm, evaluation of the results.
