Description
In recent years, low-cost air quality sensors have gained popularity not only among professionals but also among hobbyists and non-experts. This growing interest has led to an increase in manufacturers offering affordable, open-source sensors, often with the option to openly share collected data. Additionally, various organizations are compiling open air quality datasets, resulting in a highly fragmented and heterogeneous data landscape.
This project aims to address these challenges by identifying reliable open-source ground-based AQ sensors, developing a tailored methodology to extract, harmonise and process sensor data, and establishing a unified framework for integration. By achieving these objectives, the project aims to improve the usability, accessibility, and reliability of low-cost air quality monitoring data, supporting better environmental analysis and decision-making.
